What is the Neurodiversity Profiling Tool?
The ND profiling tool is a visual document that assesses nine developmental strands of a child or young person aged 0-19 years. This includes speech and language, energy levels, attention skills, emotion regulation, sensory processing, flexibility and adaptability, and empathy.
Its intention is to provide a holistic view of a child or young person’s needs and suggests types of strategies that can be put in place to help manage those needs in different areas of a life, including at home.
The process of completing the profile is done with the family, and not for the family. For further information, please click the link below:

Who can complete a Neurodiversity Profile?
Please contact the Early Help Hub for current details of trained professionals who can work with your family to complete the profiling tool:
Cornwall Council : Early Help Hub
This trained professional could be any one of the following:
- Health Visitor / School Nurse
- Education Mental Health Practitioner
- Family Support Worker or other agency practitioner
- Social Worker
- School staff member
Please note: Doctors/GPs do not have the capacity to complete NDPs.
NDP Request Procedure for Aspire Parents/Carers
It is not necessary or appropriate to screen every child. The profile will only be used where neurodevelopmental concerns and questions about additional needs arise between parents and professionals.
