Biscovey Infants YST 20025 winners!
Huge congratulations to Biscovey Nursery and Infants' Academy who were crowned winners of 'Outstanding Early Years Practice' at the annual Youth Sport Trust Awards in Telford on Tuesday 25th March 2025.
A further two Aspire academies were shortlisted for the same award, Mount Hawke Academy and St Breock Primary School.
The annual gala dinner and awards evening preceded the Youth Sport Trust conference and this year the focus was on how it may support schools and the education sector to Lead Well - Move Well - Live Well, an essential driver to its overall mission to deliver the happiest and healthiest generation of young learners through a nation of active and well schools.
Katie Bullock, Head of School at Biscovey Nursery & Infants' Academy commented, "We are thrilled to have won 'Outstanding Early Years Practice'. This is testament to the relentless hard work that the Biscovey Infants' staff have put in. By integrating key YST initiatives such as 'My Personal Best' and 'Healthy Movers', we help our children build strong foundations in physical and cognitive development, ensuring they gain the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for lifelong success. I am incredibly proud of all of the team and the positive impact each and every person makes to the lives of our youngest children".
At the conference, Sian Hall, Head of School at St Breock Primary School, sat on the panel to explore the transformative potential of a WellTrust on school improvement & long-lasting pupil outcomes.
Conference keynote speakers were the recently retired Director of Women's Football at The FA, Baroness Sue Campbell and Human Performance Scientist Dr James Hewitt.
