Aspire wins Youth Sport Trust award
The annual Youth Sport Trust Conference 2023 is being held on Thursday 2nd March in Telford and this year focusses on the power of PE, sport and play to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people through Well Schools.
The Aspire Academy Trust is proudly represented by members of staff from Biscovey Nursery & Infants' Academy, Nansledan School, Indian Queens Primary School and St Breock Primary School. St Breock Primary School Head of School, Mrs Sian Hall is a guest speaker discussing what a Well Schools Trust looks like.
On behalf of our trust, Sian is also one of the contributors to the 'Well School Trusts Conditions for Success" guide and is full of top tips to support MATs on their Well Schools journey.
The Aspire Academy Trust is proud to be part of Well School Trusts, putting wellbeing at the centre and continuous steps towards improvement. Well Schools is a growing community of like-minded professionals and stakeholders committed to creating the happiest and healthiest learners in the world. By joining the Well School community, Aspire receives free access to school-led practice and examples; guidance and support from experts and leaders; conversations with like-minded experts and practitioners plus training, resources and support from partners.
A Well School places just as much emphasis on wellbeing as it does on academic performance. It understands that children and young people are more effective learners when they are happy and well and that they must take care of their staff and their pupils wellbeing to create a culture that allows everyone to reach their potential.
At the Youth Sport Trust annual evening awards dinner on Wednesday 1st March, keynote speaker Jill Scott MBE shared her journey and her love of football with all the award nominees.
We are incredibly proud to announce that the winner of the YST Outstanding Multi Academy Practice Award was the Aspire Academy Trust!
The award was presented to Sian and the Aspire team by Steve Rollett, Deputy CEO of the Confederation of School Trusts (CST). The Youth Sport Trust commented...
The Trust has prioritised PE and wellbeing across its schools, implementing a PE and wellbeing network for staff to share best practice and refocus curriculum content.
This award is testament to the huge, collaborative effort, passion and commitment by Aspire staff to do what is right for its children, placing wellbeing at the heart of each academy so that teaching staff may nurture and grow happy and healthy learners.
